Join Maribyrnong’s Active Transport Advisory Committee
From ongoing conversations with our community as part of the Asset Plan, Annual Budget and Financial Plan – we know our community values active modes of transport and wants to see more walking and cycling pathways in our City
The Active Transport Advisory Committee supports Council in its active transport planning, providing a sounding board and strengthening linkages between Council and the community.
Self-nominations are now open for six new members to be part of the Advisory Committee for a two-year period.
We’re looking for people who live, work or study who are interested in contributing to active transport direction, road safety, and the impacts on the health and wellbeing of our community in general.
Membership is voluntary and involve six meetings each year.
New members of the Advisory Committee will be recruited by way of a public process with applicants asked to respond to relevant selection criteria, which includes:
- Ability to represent the interests of pedestrians and cyclists e.g. past experience, demonstrated commitment to community involvement.
- A willingness to share ideas and expertise and support active transport in its various forms.
- Understanding of the local community and its urban environment, and issues related to improving active transport facilities.
- Links with relevant groups or organisations e.g. community groups, bicycle user groups, clubs or schools.
Anyone who lives, works or studies in the City of Maribyrnong is able to apply.
