Consultation has concluded
The Footscray Hub is designed to address the need for general community meeting spaces and to provide further facilities for seniors to access community space. Co-locating the Hub with the current Footscray Library will allow improved interaction between community groups and library events and facilities.
The design includes a large function room with a seating capacity of 206 people which can also be divided into two rooms accommodating 2 groups of 70 people seated at tables. A further two 20 seat and a 10 seat meeting room will be located at the front of the facility along with a an informal chill-out area located within the foyer, perfect for sitting with your library book and a coffee!
The design also includes a privacy room, a kitchen foyer and break out space and kitchenette, reception area, kitchen and storage facilities for the use of community groups.
The design will retain the library courtyard and also deliver an updated, modern façade to the whole building including the current Footscray library.
