Our vision: All people in Maribyrnong flourish and live free from violence and discrimination and have equal rights, opportunities, representation and respect regardless of their gender.
Maribyrnong City Council is proud to present the draft Gender Equity Strategy 2030, our long term commitment to guide investment and action to achieve gender equity, prevent family violence and respond to the needs of victims of family violence in Maribyrnong.
The strategy aligns with recent changes in the national, state, regional and local policy environment and aligns with the 'Preventing Violence Together 2030: Western Region Strategy to Prevent Violence Against Women'.
We invite you to read the strategy and
- Tell us what you think in the quick poll - will the strategy help Council achieve our vision of a flourishing city free from violence and discrimination?
- Share your ideas and innovative examples - what types of information, programs and initiatives do you think Council could implement in relation to gender equity and prevention of violence against women? Who is doing it well in Australia and around the world?
Your contribution will assist Council to develop a two-year Action Plan to deliver on the Strategy.
