Footscray Park: an Edwardian Paradise

Come on an engaging and informative heritage walk through Footscray Park to learn more about this slice of unique local history.

This one off event, guided by a member of the Footscray Historical Society, is one of the features of the Australian Heritage Festival.

Be prepared to immerse yourself in the rich stories of Footscray and surrounds as you traverse the Edwardian Park's terraced bluestone paths and hear stories recalling the history of the lands Traditional Owners, as well as the legacy and impact of WW1 and WW2 on our community and an important visit by Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

Council officers will also be on hand to talk about our need to create a new, community led heritage vision to support future planning and protection of treasured places like this. We want to hear from you what heritage values, places and cultural practices you want cherished for future generations.

The walking tour is capped at 50 people, so register now to get your spot! Register via the green registration button to secure your place. It’s free – though donations to the Historical Society are welcomed.
