The Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) Study which aims to improve traffic congestion and road safety in the western end of Footscray.
Stage 1
Community feedback received during Stage 1 of the LATM Study identified the following as the main concerns for locals and visitors to the area:
- Walking and cycling is a strong focus for the community with a desire for more pedestrian crossings and more/improved bicycle facilities and safety improvements for pedestrians and cyclists alike.
- There is community support for the introduction of a 40km/h speed limit in the western end of Footscray, which is scheduled for implementation next financial year.
- Issues relating to traffic volumes and road safety were also identified.
