During our first community conversation, you reinforced McIvor Reserve as host to a multitude of activities - from personal exercise to birthday parties, to watching and playing sport, meeting up with friends and relaxing and enjoying the outdoors.
Because McIvor Reserve is a shared space enjoyed by residents across the municipality we want to ensure the amenities provided ensure the Reserve remains a flexible and inclusive municipal space.
Among the key concerns you highlighted were lighting – or the lack of, which you felt limited the times you could enjoy the Reserve and contributed towards a feeling of not being safe.
A lack of public toilets was also seen as an issue, particularly for families enjoying the facility including the BBQ area. You also told us the playground area was not as accessible as it could be and in need of an upgrade, and that generally – the Reserve needed more shade, seating and shelter.
We have taken these comments on board and you will see these elements among the enhancements reflected in proposed upgraded amenities highlighted on the interactive map below.
We invite you to explore these and provide your feedback in the virtual 'post-it note' board below before midnight, Sunday 18 December.
What do you think of the proposed changes to amenities at McIvor Reserve?

Where will the amenities at the bowls be when you take away the spirit and culture of our club?

The most important amenities are natural ones. We urgently need parks, not bright lights on sporting fields and a synth turf gym!

By placing a playground as proposed you have removed the only unstructured gathering place when the cricket season is on <Accessibility :(

You have a climate emergency action plan. The courts need to be 6 Star Green Star, Climate Active Carbon Neutral and gas free.

Great stuff, let’s do it! Please make one of the dog parks be for small dogs, like Brooklyn reserve. Cruikshank could take one too.

No to lights on the baseball field shining into residents houses. There’s more than 50 close residents which is more than the no of players

Depending on a shared residential fence to secure dogs is ridiculous. What if a dog dug under and injured a child in his garden?

Dogs on the other side of a fence should be perfectly safe for humans, plan looks well thought out
