Consultation has concluded
Thank you to everyone who provided feedback and joined the conversation about Maribyrnong’s role in the NDIS.
The community feedback received both in writing and at the public meeting on 20 November is being compiled into a report, which will be circulated soon. This feedback will also be presented to Council.
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is responsible for implementing the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) across the country. This is a national initiative designed to support hundreds of thousands of Australians and will be introduced in the Metro West region in October 2018.
How does council support people living with disability?
Council currently employs a Disability Planner who implements the Disability Policy and Action Plan. We also employ a MetroAccess Officer whose role it is to focus on community development and advocacy, and a community care team that provides services such as respite and personal care.
Now is the time to join the conversation!
With the NDIS rolling out in Maribyrnong City next October, Council would like to make sure everybody has a chance to be informed, ask questions and raise concerns. Submit your question below AND register to attend the public meeting.
Questions shared on this discussion will be answered at a public meeting on the 20 November 2017.
