PROPOSED BUDGET 2019/2020 including the 2019-2023 Strategic Resource Plan and Proposed change to system of valuing land and calculations of rates to CIV (changing of rating system).

Our 2019-20 Annual Budget continues to invest in a vision for a vibrant, diverse and progressive city with a sustainable future as outlined in our Council Plan 2017-21. We’re delivering valued infrastructure projects, programs and services that is necessary for a community that is growing in population, with a $158 million Annual Budget that includes over $60 million on capital works.

We’re proud to deliver a fiscally responsible and balanced budget that plans for the long-term and keeps costs down which is one of our continuing objectives.

You are welcome to send a submission on the proposed 2019-20 Annual Budget, Strategic Resource Plan and Change of Rating System (Rating Strategy) by using the submission form below, or the email button on the right hand column under 'who's listening'. Please let us know if you would like to attend in person when the submissions heard. Everyone who sends a written submission can have their submission heard by Council in accordance with Section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989.


Rate Assessment:

The Council proposes to declare the following Differential Rates for the rating period commencing 1 July 2019 and ending 30 June 2020. The general rate be raised by the application of differential rates.

The number of rateable properties assessed for the financial year will be 40,992.

There will be a $20 municipal charge.

There will be a $170 waste management service charge.
